EDGE (7th & 8th grade)

Our theme Two-Edged Sword comes from St. Paul’s letter to the Hebrews from which he states:

“For the Word of God Is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

We have chosen this theme in light of our two-year curriculum.  The curriculum covers the Sacred Scripture’s account of Jesus Christ along with the Church’s history of handing on the Deposit of Faith through Sacred Tradition.  In this way, your child will be encountering the two – edges of the Word of God.  The Second Vatican Council’s Dogmatic Constitution Dei Verbum reminds us that “[Sacred] Tradition and [Sacred] Scripture make up a single sacred deposit of the Word of God. Which is entrusted to the Church.”

“…take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”(Eph. 6:17)
